MiniSoft's comprehensive in-house office billing package is an accounts
receivable system with a unique patient information package that promises to do
away with hard copy records keeping in office charts. The system will maintain
patient information and permit the user to enter charges and payments, print
statements and insurance bills, to electronically bill to medicare, to assign
patient appointments from calendars kept for each doctor in the practice, to
record and retrieve patient medications, X-rays, laboratory test
profiles/panels (with up to 20 test results per profile/panel), to record
history, problems and progress notes, to transfer old patient information to a
history filesystem, and more. A windowing system instantly recalls and displays
the various pieces of a patient's records. The CPT codes used to charge and
bill a patient are kept in separate files that allow the user to define both
the code and the charge. A barcode reader can then be used to make the entry
process simple and error free. Some laboratory test equipment can be interfaced
to the computer for direct input of test results into patient records.
